Família oriunda de Estugarda, no reino de Vurtemberga, cuja genealogia se encontra documentada desde o começo do século XV, pois então vivia Baltasar M., casado com Bárbara Lenserin, o qual era estribeiro-mor dos condes reinantes naquele Estado. O Imperador Maximiliano II e elevou à nobreza doSacro Império Romano em 4 de Março de 1575, na pessoa dos irmãos Valentim e Baltasar M., com o acrescentamento dos apelidos Filseck und Weiberg e a proposição von. O chefe do ramo originado por este Baltasar M. veio para Portugal. Chamou-se Georg-Christopher-Heinrich von M., nascido em Estugarda aos 19 de Outubro de 1775, e por, na pátria, haver gasto na política o património se passara a Nápoles e aí estabelecera uma casa comercial, que no ano de 1815 transferiu para Lisboa, onde foi cônsul de Vurtemberga. Foi casado com D. Henriqueta Guilhrmina von Hofacker, natural de Constadt, de quem teve vários filhos, quase todos nascidos antes de virem para Portugal. Morreram ambos em Lisboa, ele a 20 de janeiro de 1857 e ela a 16 de Outubro do mesmo ano, sendo ambos sepultados no Cemitério Alemão. São seus descendentes os Condes de Moser.
