Nos tempos antigos, essa família era chamada Curte dicti Mugarii e acrescentou o sobrenome Brà no final de 1700 por herança. Em 1410, juntou-se ao nobre Conselho de Verona. Ferdinando Carlo Gonzaga Duque de Mântua com diploma em 22 de setembro de 1695 criou contas Giovanni Francesco, Giovanni Battista e Giacomo com seus descendentes em ordem de primogenitura, um título que em 3 de outubro de 1768 foi reconhecido pela República Veneziana estendido a todos os homens. Alessandro e Giovanni Battista di Francesco, foram confirmados nos títulos de nobre e contam com as SRAs em 4 de setembro de 1818 e 5 de agosto de 1821. Os mesmos títulos foram reconhecidos com DM em 8 de junho de 1896.
