Die Familie stammt aus Strambino und ihre erste Nachricht geht auf Antonio zurück, der 1536 starb. Sie wurde in der Person von Marchetto Marchetti (Nr. 21. Januar 1512, Dez. Lvrea, 22. August 1584) auf dem Land von San Martino und in der Konsortium von Settimo Vittone im Jahre 1575. Er hatte dieses, das nach den Herren von Castelnuovo und Baio benannt wurde und 1522 einen Teil von Tavagnasco und Nomaglio vom S. Martino kaufte. Er hatte das Amt des allgemeinen Steueranwalts inne und wurde am 28. Mai 1573 zum Generalvermögen der Rechnungskammer ernannt, wobei die Fakultät (25. März 1581) das Amt seinem Sohn Giambattista überließ. Er wurde im Jahr 1525 in Muriago geboren und starb am 5. Oktober 1593 in Turin.
