A família nasce em Strambino, e cujas primeiras notícias remontam a Antonio, morto em 1536, foram agregadas na pessoa de Marchetto Marchetti (n. 21 de janeiro de 1512, dez. Lvrea, 22 de agosto de 1584) ao interior de San Martino e ao consórcio de Settimo Vittone em 1575. Ele possuía esse nome, batizado em homenagem aos senhores de Castelnuovo e Baio, comprando parte de Tavagnasco e Nomaglio em 1522 à S. Martino. Ele ocupou o cargo de procurador geral tributário e, em 28 de maio de 1573, foi nomeado patrimônio geral da câmara de contas, junto à faculdade (25 de março de 1581) para deixar o cargo para seu filho Giambattista. Nasceu em Muriago no ano de 1525 e morreu em Turim em 5 de outubro de 1593, foi notário apostólico, patrimônio geral em sub-rogação de seu pai (1573), vereador e auditor da câmara principal (1586).
