Famiglia che fu ascritta al nobile Consiglio di Padova nel 1081. Alessio fu uno dei quattro nobili giudici che nel 1182, unitamente al Vescovo, vennero dal Comune deputati a trattare e conchiudere la pace tra Ecelino il Monaco e la famiglia Camposampiero; Pietro nel 1193 fu uno dei consoli del Comune; un altro Alessio, o Alvise, fu prode guerriero e caldo difensore della libertà della sua patria quando nel 1236, presa Padova da Ecelino III, egli difese contro le truppe del tiranno il castello di Montagnone dove erasai rifugiato il fiore della nobiltà ed i rappresentanti della Repubblica, e non cedè se non dopo lunga ed eroica resistenza e con patti veramente onorevoli; Ugone, tentò egli pure in siffatta circostanza di giovare ai suoi concittadini, sebbene non ne traesse alcun profitto. Tuttochè il feroce Ecelino perseguitasse a morte tutti gl'individui di questa famiglia, pure alcuni scamparono dall'eccidio, e le traccie
