Nobile famiglia di Acireale. Un Saverio, con privilegio del 14 ottobre 1752, ottenne infeudazione del territorio chiamato Torre e, con privilegio del 29 luglio 1753, ebbe il titolo di barone di Torre; e tenne la carica di patrizio di Acireale nel 1756-57; un altro barone Saverino fu giurato in detta città nel 1794-95; Giuseppe Musmeci e Leonardi occupò la carica di capitano di giustizia in Acireale nel 1801-2; un Arcangelo Musmeci e Mudò ed un Giuseppe Musmeci e Finocchiaro vi tennero quella di acatapano nobile nel 1803-4. Con D. M. del 25 sett. 1904, venne riconosciuto il titolo di barone della Torre al signor Niccolò, di Saverio, di Niccolò. La famiglia è iscritta nel Libro d'Oro della Nob. Ital. e nell'El. Uff. Nob.
