Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Hus, seigneur de la Musse, bâtit vers 1200 le château de Pont-Hus, paroisse de Petit-Mars; Françoise, dame héritière de la Musse et de Pont-Hus, épousa vers 1500 Jean Chauvin, fils de Guillaume, chancelier de Bretagne, à condition que les enfants qui naîtraient de ce mariage prendraient les nom et armes de la Musse; Bonaventure Chauvin, chambellan du roi Henri II, épouse en 1544 Françoise Pantin: David, marié en 1592 à Sarah du Bouays de Beaulac, tué au siége de Crozon en 1594, père de David, seigneur de Pont-Hus, condamné par arrêt du parlement de Paris, en 1622, à avoir son château rasé et ses bois coupés à hauteur d'homme, pour s'être rendu à l'assemblèe des rebelles à La Rochelle. La branche aînée fondue en 1678 dans Gouyon de Marcé; la branche de Coislin fondue en 1496 dans le Guennec, et depuis Baye et Cambout.
