Venne di Francia co' Normanni la famiglia M. in Sicilia, ed in Napoli. E nel reggimento del Rè Buon Guglielmo: Rubberto M. mandò al servigio militare di Terra Santa sei soldati armati come feudatario Giovanni M. Barone di Castelleneto andò egli personalmente con gente al medesmo servigo militare. Da costoro nè pervenne Gio: M., che fù Pretor di Palermo nel 1332, e suo figlio Giacomo hebbe il medesimo ufficio nel 1347, questo hebbe per moglie Nicolasa Mussuto, figlia di Matteo Mussuto gentil'huomo Palermitano ch'era stato Senatore della medesima Città nel 1328, essendo Pretore Guido Filingeri i Colleghi di Matteo Mussuto furono Nicolò Algieri, Filippo Bancheri, Manfredo Boccad'orgio, Cancelliero del Bene, ed Andrea Dendo. Fù anche il predetto Matteo Giurato nel 1335, e nel 1340.
