Originaria della Svezia, da cui dovette esulare per le civili turbolenze, si riparò in Italia e prese stanza nella città di Jesi, dove assunse il nome di Salvus, da cui ebbe origine il cognome Salvoni. Ma nel XIV secolo un Giovan-Cristoforo, lasciato il nome Salvoni, aveva preso quello di Giorgini, già portato da un Franzone suo antenato; nome che poi conservarono i suoi discendenti. Questi due rami si ricongiunsero poi nel 1516 per il matrimonio di Francesco Salvoni con Francesca Giorgini, ultima della sua casa. Tuttavia i nati da questo matrimonio adottarono il cognome materno, e fu soltanto nel 1707 che, estintasi la famiglia Giorgini, il nome e le sostanze di lei furono devolute al ramo dei Salvoni.
