Questa famiglia sortì il cognome da un Mainardus, detto Mainarduccius, nominato quale padre di un Nicolò contraente in un contratto di compravendita di un prato della Valle di Mian nel 1325. Apparsa in San Daniele in epoca imprecisata, fece parte da antica data di quel consiglio, i di cui membri si dicevano nobili, per quanto la Consulta non abbia riconosciuto tale qualità alle famiglie iscritte. Nel secolo XVI un Leonardo fu vicario di S. Daniele, e un Gio. Batta professò l'arte notarile alla Curia romana, distinguendosi altresì nella sacra eloquenza. L'abate Carlo Narducci (1715), già segretario del cardinale Passionei, ci lasciò un discorso sul duello. Girolamo, barnabita a Roma col nome di padre Carlo Maria (n. 1787, dec. 1825), fu consultore ed esaminatore. Pietro Antonio di Carlo, capitano di S.Daniele e deputato alla Municipalità centrale di Udine, si adoperò vantaggiosamente per il suo paese durante i rivolgimenti politici seguiti alla
