Famiglia assai antica e nobile di Roma, i cui membri furono investiti del marchesato di Mompeo e della contea di Mustiolo. Questa famiglia ha dato due cardinali alla Chiesa: Gregorio nel 1634 e Benedetto, morto nel 1832. Francesco fu Conservatore di Roma nel 1515, onore che ebbe pure Girolamo nel 1587, Giovanni Antonio nel 1626, Orazio nel 1650, Fabrizio nel 1562 ed altri. Tra i Cavalieri di S. Giovanni di Gerusalemme troviamo un Giovanni Battista Naroi nel 1588, che fu Priore d'Inghilterra e di Capua e poi generale delle galere dell'Ordine e un Francesco Naroi, nel 1683. Francesco avendo sposato Porzia ultimo rampollo della casa Patrizi, assunse il cognome e lo stemma di questa ultima casa. Altro ramo. Visse con chiara nobiltà, la famiglia Naroi, nella città di Siracusa, ed in altre del Regno. Giovanni Naroi fu "Rationale della Reginal Camera" nel 1407, il cui figlio, Filippo, fu Protomedico
