Diede principio alla questa nobile famiglia di Sicilia. Condisalvo fratello di Guttierre. Cavalieri Castigliani, originata nobilmente d'Alemagna, che vennero ambedue col Rè Martino militano, e dopo s'impiegarono a' serviggi del rè Alfonzo, da chi Guttiere fù eletto suo armigero, e nel 1421 ebbe il Castello, e Casale del Xiglio nel Ducato di Calabria vicino al Faro di Messina, con tutti i suoi Vassalli pertinenze e giurisdizioni col carico di suo grande almirante, nella medesma Provincia di Calabria altri onze 200. soura il Garagatore della Bruca nel 1423 i feudi Pancali, e di Ramasuli nel tenitorio Leontino, l'integra metà dell'introiti del Lago pantano di Leontini, nonostante la pretensione d'Arnaldo di Villa comprò dell'Infante Giovanni la Baronia di Nondifè nel tenitorio d'Augusta per fiorini 600, e molt'altri territori ottenne. Successe a Guttierre il fratello Condisalvo, che fù signore dell'Isola della Pantelleria, e litigò per quella con Francesco Beluis, e del feudo della
