Signori di Ferrugia originari di Vercelli da dove si trapiantarono in Casale fin dal tempo che le due città si reggevano a comune. Sendo di parte Guelfa, furono nelle grazie dei Conti di Provenza nel tempo che questi dominarono in Casale. Erano investiti di parte della giurisdizione di Ferruggia e di due massarie di Morano. Bazano Consigl. di Giovanni Giorgio ultimo dei Paleologi, nel 1350. Giacomo, uno degli ambasciatori di Casale al March. di Monferrato nel 1403. Carlo VIII di Francia concesse a Pietro Bazano Capitano sperimentato il titolo di Consigliere col privilegio di aggiungere nella sua arma un giglio d'oro in campo azzurro. Altro ramo. Originaria del castello omonimo di Bazzano sulla frontiera bolognese, e divisa in più rami sparsi nei suddetti paesi.
