Giusta quanto riferisce il Mugnos, una delle antiche patrizie famiglie delle città di Caltagirone e Catania, oriunda dalla Slesia. Un cavaliere Loffrido venuto in Italia militando coll'imperatore Enrico VI nel 1195 acquistò in premio del suo valore il governo della città di Brescia, ove piantò sua famiglia. Ne venne un Idone, che per avere i capelli ricci, in dialetto rizzi, fu detto Idone R.. I di lui fratelli Giovanni e Goffredo stando al servizio militare dell'imperatore Federico II, la recarono in Sicilia, il Giovanni fu castellano di Traina 1243. Si notano in oltre vari altri distinti personaggi, come a dire: un secondo Giovanni giustiziere del valle d'Enna 1253; un Odone castellano di Caltagirone; un Manfredo capitano di Caltagirone 1403; un Pietro ambasciatore della città di Catania, spedito a re Alfonso 1434; un terzo Manfredo castellano di detta città; un altro Pietro giurato, maestro razionale, barone di Grano e Friddani, da
