Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Alain, prête serment au duc en 1372; Mérien, ratifie le traité de Guérande en 1381; Sylvestre, auteur de la branche de Kerhardy et du Bois-David, partage ses enfants en 1491 et épouse Isabeau le Bourc'his; Pierre, abbé de Sainte-Croix de Guingamp en 1514; Claude, abbé de Bégard en 1566; Philippe, marié à Marie du Chastel, père et mère de François, chevalier de Saint-Michel, en 1561, gouverneur du duc d'Aujou, depuis Henri III, marié à Anne Hurault; en 1566 à Françoise de la Baume-Montrevel, dame d'honneur des reines Louise de Lorraine et Catherine de Médicis; mort en 1571 et enterré à Saint Germain l'Auxerrois, à Paris. La branche aînée fondue dans Fleuriot, puis Acigné.
