Ancient and very noble family originally from Spain, of clear and ancestral virtue, passed first to Genoa and finally settled in Sicily. Known as Nigro, Lo Nigro or even Nigrì, this noble house was particularly illustrated with an Antonino, doctor in both laws, who was a praetorian judge of Palermo in the year 1686, judge of the Great Court of the Kingdom in 1693, judge of the court of the Consistory in 1696, head of the junta of confiscated property, privative judge of the Scala Franca and of the royal secrecy and customs of Messina in the year 1699, tax lawyer of the court of the Grand Court in 1704, rational master of the Real Patrimonio court and president of the consistory court in 1714.
