A prima vista, chi legge, vorrà censurare la nostra Istoria a causa di questa famiglia, uscendo dalli limiti della Toscana, e Umbria, mentre questa famiglia, e nobile di Fano Città, però fra'l Piceno, e l'Emilia nell'Agro Gallico, e nell'Umbria Senona detta da Catone, e Sempronio Gallia Flaminia, essendo certissimo, che questa è posta sù la via Flamminia, la quale cominciando in Roma camina una giornata per Toscana secondo Antonino, Strabone, e altri; ripassando il Tevere al Borghetto, entra nell'Umbria per Utricoli, Narni, Terni, Spoleti, Foligno Nocera, Cagli, Fossombrone fino al Mare Adriatico, ove nel mezzo della Città di Fano fa gomito, e volta verso Pesaro, e Rimini; come si ha esser detta da C. Flaminio, che la fece lastricare con bellissime Selici secondo T. Livio onde niuno Scrittore si trova dicesse mai, che la via Flaminia sia nel Piceno. Bene, è vero, che la via Cornelia passava per il Piceno,
