Família aristocrática da cidade de Massa da região de Maremma, os Nini, de Nino ou Nina vieram à Siena onde foram inscritos no Monte dei Gentiluomini e possuíram capelas e jazigos em S. Agostino e na catedral. Em 1.356 Meo, de Nino, era um Capitano del Popolo [uma figura política da época medieval], e, Nino, de Deo, em 1.360, residia na sede dos Conselhos da República e era também professor de medicina na Faculdade de Siena. Um outro médico e professor famoso pertenceu à família dos N. um século mais tarde surge Francesco, que lecionava em Pisa cujo epitáfio foi composto por Dati. Em 1.363, faleceu o frade dominicano Bartolomeo N. Em 1.385, Constantino foi nomeado cavaleiro após a perseguição aos Reformistas de Siena e, em 1.389, foi nomeado camerlengo de Biccherna. Alguns anos mais tarde, Pietro, di Domenico N. foi um notário em Biccherma. Um outro Costantino, em 1.431
