Originalmente de Massa di Maremma, os Nini chegaram a Siena, onde foram atribuídos ao Monte dei Gentiluomini e tinham capelas e enterros em S. Agostino e na catedral. Em 1356, Meo, de Nino, era capitão do Povo e Nino, de Deo, em 1360, residia nos Conselhos da República, sendo também leitor de medicina no estudo de Siena. Outro médico e leitor gritante teve o Nini um século depois na pessoa de Francesco, que lecionou em Pisa e cujo epitáfio foi composto por Dati.Em 1363, morreu o frade dominicano Bartolomeo Nini, que mais tarde foi abençoado. Em 1385, Constantino foi feito cavaleiro após a expulsão dos reformadores de Siena e em 1389 foi nomeado Camarlingo di Biccherna. O notário de Biccherna foi, alguns anos depois, Pietro, por Domenico Nini. Outro Constantino, em 1431, ele foi feito cavaleiro, depois se tornou prefeito de Ancona.
