Nobile e numerosa è la famiglia Locatelli, Locatello o Locadello in Bergamo, dalla quale uscirono cavalieri, conti, capitani gentiluomini ed altri illustri personaggi. Varii vennero in epoche diverse ad abitare in Venezia e di essi vi sono stati mercanti dottori e segretari, come si legge nelle memorie di questa famiglia nelle iscrizioni sepolcrali sparse nelle varie chiese.
