Famiglia antichissima, prima detta dei Longobardi, recatasi a Verona da Firenze a' tempi molti remoti. Bonagiunta fu giureconsulto e giudice nel 1216; Alessandro nel 1368 fu uno dei Veronesi che per ordine di Cansignorio possedettero alla costruzione di una parte delle mura della città; Bartolomeo fu uno dei capi del torneo fatto in Verona nel 1382; Benedetto, celebre medico, l'anno 1490 fu aggregato al Collegio dei fisici di Verona. Nel 1437 e 1527 questa prosazia formò parte del nobile Consiglio veronese. Un'altra casa dello stesso cognome da Vicenza si traslocò in Verona, dalla quale uscirono il giureconsulto Francesco ed il notaio Girolamo fratelli, ambedue creati cittadini veronesi nel 1655.
