Secondo il Mugnos, ed il Villabianca, famiglia d'una antica nobiltà. Pregiasi derivare da Bartolo signore di Andernacco nell'Alsazia, il quale passato in Italia con l'Imperatore Ottone nel 979 in qualità di alfiere imperiale tenne il posto di gevernatore della città di Pisa. Un Luchin di lui figlio fu chiamato da' pisani Luchin d'Interbartolo, valquanto dire Luchino del signor Bartolo, ciò che diè occasione al nome di questa chiara famiglia, che ben tosto si sparse in Firenze, Siena, Perugia ed altre primarie città di'Italia.
