In virtù del contratto di retrocessione, per parte della Mensa Vescovile di Nuoro al Regio Demanio, dei Salti di Biriddò, Planus, Lopè e San Martino, stipulato in Cagliari, addì 4 aprile 1846, ed approvato colle Regie patenti del 21 dello stesso mese, fu riservato in perpetuo a favore dei Vescovi pro tempore della Mitra e Diocesi di Galtelli-Nuoro il titolo di Barone dei Salti di Biriddò, Lopè, Planus e San Martino: titolo che il Vescovo usava da tempo immemorabile. Già fin dal 20 settembre 1779 era stata spedita a favore della Mensa vescovile una salvaguardia reale per la manutenzione nel possesso e nella giurisdizione civile e criminale su quei salti. Con tale titolo il vescovo pro tempore è iscritto nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano.
