Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Salomon, chambellan du duc Jean IV en 1380, épouse: Marguerite, dame de Coëtélez; Juzette, dame de Kersauson, à condition que les enfants à maître de ce second mariage, perdraient les nom et armes de Kersauson, ce qui a été exécuté. Du premier lit naquit Hervé, dit le vieil, sénéchal de Cornouaille, vivant en 1405, marié à Béatrix de Tréffly, qui ont continué la branche de Coëtélez. Cette famille alliée aux Tournemine, Kergournadec'h, Rosmadec, etc., a produit: François, abbé de Bonrepos, de 1579 à 1606; Mathurin, archidiacre de Vannes, puis évêque nommé de Poitiers en 1698, mort en 1730, frère d'un lieutenant aux gardes en 1706. La branche de Coëtudavel a produit un page du Roi en 1669 et un lieutenant de vaisseau en 1786, fusillé à Quiberon en 795, dernier de cette famille.
