Carlo Emanuele III, re di Sardegna, con diploma in data 10 dicembre 1738, concedeva a favore di Diego Obino , di Santulussurgiu, e dei suoi figli e discendenti per linea maschile il titolo di cavaliere e l'uso dell'arma gentilizia. In seguito, con diploma del 6 marzo 1739, concedeva a favore dello stesso Diego e dei suoi figli e discendenti per linea maschile il titolo di nobile. Da lui discesero don Lorenzo e don Michele Obino: i loro nomi sono compresi negli Elenchi dei nobili e dei cavalieri, compilati nel 1822. Alla famiglia spettano i titoli di cavaliere (m.), di nobile (mf.) con la qualifica di Don (mf.). Altro ramo. Famiglia cagliaritana le cui notizie risalgono nel secolo XVII. Nel 1709 ottenne il cavalierato ereditario, con un Leonardo, soprastante maggiore delle fortificazioni di Cagliari dal 1688. Della famiglia non si ebbero più notizie dal secolo XVIII.
