En las Baleares. Familia noble y antiquísima. Ya estaba arraigada en la ciudad de Alcudia en 1285. Pedro O. fue uno de los disputados que en el citado año nombró aquella ciudad para jurar obediencia y vasallaje al rey don Alfonso III de Aragón. En 1286 figuró Sberto de O. entre los capitanes que acompañaron a dicho monarca a la conquista de Menorca, fundando en esta isla el solar de su familia, solar que se ha conservado hasta nuestros días: En mediados del siglo XIX era descendiente y representante de esa casa Juan José de O. Villar. La reina doña Isabel II le concedió el título perpetuo de Castilla con la denominación de barón de las Arenas, el 12 de abrile de 1844. El rey don Felipe IV otorgó privilegio militar, fechado en Zaragoza el 26 de junio de 1645, a Pedro Jerónimo O., natural de Menorca.
