Nobile famiglia palermitana, della quale il Villabianca porge; un Pietro O. chiarissimo ministro presidente del Tribunale del r. Patrimonio 1675, ed indi reggente del Consiglio di Madrid, morto 1678; un Michele primo duca di Aquaviva 1686; altro Pietro investito 1688, ministro superiore della compagnia della Carità 1708; un Francesco investito 1751, ministro come sopra e progenitore del vivente duca d'Acquaviva Francesco O. e Del Castillo. Autori che parlano di questa famiglia: V. Palizzolo Gravina Barone di Ramione, nella sua opera " Il Blasone in Sicilia ossia Raccolta Araldica", stampato in Palermo nel 1871-75, ha offerto non poche notizie interessanti di questa famiglia, e delle gloriose tradizioni di quest'isola. Insieme al Minutoli, Invges, Mugnos e piu d'un instancabile Marchese di Villabianca, l'opera ha raccolto documenti, pergamene e testimonianze trasmesse da' componenti della casata stessa che parlano de' loro trascorsi, di virtù e gesta della propria schiatta.
