Até agora nada foi encontrado na lexicografia aristocrática desta antiga família nobre, também conhecida como Ulsen, embora só tenha sido extinta relativamente tarde. É certo que sempre foi pobre em termos de membros e não muito rico. Sua principal propriedade nos séculos 15 e 16 foi uma mansão em Weissen-Schirmbach.
