Famiglia antichissima ed illustre, originaria di Verona. Tra le vetuste e patrizie di Milano se ne trova una di questo cognome; ma non è noto quale di esse sia lo stipite. Forse la nostra potrebbe essere qui venuta da Milano nel 1183 al tempo che Guglielmo fu Podestà in Verona. Fulcone Onnini o Folco fu, nel 1219, tra i Giudici veronesi. Un Fiorio e due Antonio Onnini, diedero l'assenso alla più volte nominata pace del 1279. Il notaio Pietro Onnini intervenne ad una investitura feudale del Vescovo di Verona nell'anno 1271. Nicolò Onnini nel 1404, fu Capitano del Carrarese alla porta del Vescovo, e nell'anno 1409 ebbe luogo nel patrio Nobile Consiglio. Altro ramo. Antica casata, di origini laziali. Questa famiglia, a dir dell'Amayden, era sicuramente comprese tra quelle raccolte nel Libro d'oro del Campidoglio. Dalla bibliografia documentata sui manoscritti della Vaticana può rilevarsi il numero relativamente esiguo delle memorie
