Antica famiglia, detta, originariamente Honorati, di origine lombarda e residente a Iesi. Essa, come risulta da Libro d'Oro della nobiltà italiana, fu fregiata dei titoli di: Marchese (m) e Nobile di Iesi (mf). Fu aggregata, inoltre, al patriziato di Iesi nel 1609, in persona di Lorenzo, di Bernardino, di Giovanni, di Bernardino. Dell'antichissimo splendore della famiglia negli Stati di Milano si fa espressa menzione nel diploma del Re Michele di Polonia , dato a Varsavia il 31 agosto 1673, col quale fu conferito al patrizio di Iesi Onorato Honorati, figlio di Andreano, di detto Lorenzo, e a tutti i suoi figli e discendenti il titolo di marchese dell'Aquila Bianca. Il casato, inoltre, diede i natali a personaggi eminenti nelle lettere, nelle armi e nella chiesa, venendo, anche, decorata della porpora cardinalizia nel 1776, in persona di Bernardino (n.1724 + 1807) già nunzio a Venezia e poi vescovo di Senigallia.
