Branch of the very noble Caracciolo Pisquizi family, called "Caracciolo di Oppido" or, more simply, "di Oppido" or "Oppido". Giovanni Antonio, count of Oppido, in fact, was descendant of Giacomo, baron of Parete and Vallemorto in 1387, in turn descendant of Ligorio, Lord of Pisciotta and Giffoni, in 1278.
