Antica ed assai nobile famiglia marchigiana, con residenza in Corinaldo, di cui così parla il G.B. Crollalanza nella sua opera "Il Dizionario Storico-Blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti": "Originaria di Fermo - Angelo podestà di Osimo nel 1493 e vicario di Senigaglia nel 1495 - Panfili capitano di Francesco I re di Francia, si distinse nella guerra contro Carlo V nel Friuli". Di tale casata ne parla anche il dott. Angelo Squarti Perla nel suo "Titoli e Nobiltà nelle Marche", così: "Originaria di Fermo, Corinaldo. Nobile di Corinaldo, come da Elenco Regionale Definitivo della Regione Marchigiana estratto dal Bollettino Ufficiale della Consulta Araldica del Regno n. 30, vol VI". Ricordiamo, inoltre, Fra Bartolomeo Orlandi(Corinaldo, 1600 - ?), il quale fu frate Agostiniano e rivestì molte cariche ecclesiastiche in molte città italiane e nel Regno di Sicilia.
