I Del Beccuto furono tra le famiglie del primo cerchio, e secondo Ricordano Malaspini fino dal 1020 abitavano nel popolo di S. Maria Maggiore. Nel ruolo dell'Arabia del 1260 Jacopo del Beccuto figura tra i deputati a far la rassegna dell'esercito; e la famiglia è ricordata nella pace del 1280 detta del Card. Latino. Durante la repubblica parteciparono alla signoria 13 volte in qualità di priori, incominciando con Lotterio di Benincasa nel 1283, e una volta in qualità di gonfalonieri, con Maruccio di Geremia, nel 1310. Nel 1722 i Del Beccuto aggiunsero il cognome e lo stemmadella famiglia, per successione istituito del Senatore Francesco, m. nel 1662. La famiglia Orlandini, che aveva avuto 12 priori, 2 gonfalonieri e 4 senatori e aveva vestito l'abito di cavaliere negli Ordini di Malta e di S.Stefano, si estinse nel 1664 con Fabio di Baccio.
