Família antiga e nobre da Catalunha. Possui as seguintes armas: Escudo e gules de ouro embutidos. Por referências de historiadores da época e de outros encontrados por Araldis na cidade e em outros arquivos privados de registro, poderíamos afirmar, mas não garantir, que esse escudo ou outro muito semelhante a ele apareceu inicialmente do século 11 ao 14, principalmente em o fato das vitórias navais de Cabo Orlando (4 de julho de 1.299) e Ponza (1.301), fazendo parte das tropas de desembarque dos Almogávares. As referências dessa família parecem ser necessárias com mais frequência do século 15 ao 19, especialmente os eventos da reconstrução da Catalunha de 11 de setembro de 1714 e nas guerras carlistas do século 19. Tudo isso parece coincidir com a memória da família de alguns dos membros do ramo da família Ortal.
