En la Montaña de Santander. Entroncaron con los Vélez de Escalante de la villa de Treceño, perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Valdáliga y partido judicial de San Vicente de la Barquera, y radicaron en dicha villa. Diego Pérez de O., natural de Treceño, vivía allí en el último tercio del siglo XVI casado con doña Toriubia Sánchez de Movellán, de la que tuvo a Simón Pérez de O., nacido en Treceño en el año de 1580, que casó con doña Elvira Gómez del Palenque, nacida en Treceño en 1579, y fueron padres de Ana Pérez de O., nacida en Treceño en 1612, que contrajo matrimonio en 1633 con Pedro Vélez de Escalante, nacido en Treceño en 1604 (hijo de Esteban Vélez de Escalante, natural de Treceño, y de doña María García del Mazo, y nieta paterno de Diego Vélez de Escalante y de doña María Fernández). Don Pedro y doña Ana pasaron a residir en México y allí fué Don Pedro Alcalde ordinario de la villa de Sombrerete. Tuvieron los siguientes hijos: Felipe Vélez de Escalante y Pérez de O., Esteban Vélez de Escalante y Pérez de O., que sigue, y María Vélez de Escalante y Pérez de O. Esteban Vélez de Escalante y Pérez de O., nació en Treceño en 1638 y fué Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó en 1691. Casó en México con doña Francisca García Román, hija de José García Román, natural de Labarces, perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Valdáliga.
