In seguito alla dispersione delle principali famiglie della Lombardia per le inimicizie e guerre tra le fazioni dei Guelfi e dei Ghibellini, la famiglia Orti, da Milano si trasferì a Verona e nel 1638 venne aggregata le principali cariche di giudice, console, conservatore delle leggi, pretore Urbano, oratore della città, ecc. Gli Orti s'imparentarono colle nobili famiglie, Lombardo, Manara, Moscardo, Spolverini, Verità e Zaccaria e fino dall'anno 1660 furono ammessi all'Ordine e grado di cavalieri di Malta. Giovanni Girolamo, Baldassarre e Gaetano, di Girolamo, per terminazione 18 luglio 1738 dei Magistrato veneto dei Provveditori sopra feudi, ebbero il riconoscimento dell'antico titolo di conte di Buscolo e vennero iscritti nell'A. L. T. Giovanni Girolamo di Agostino ebbe la conferma della nobiltà con S. R. A. 11 marzo 1820.
