Nobile famiglia pisana, derivata da un Guido O. vicario dell'imperatore Federico II, che lo chiama suo amico anziano, ricordando d'avere mantenuto a sue spese per giorni dieci tutto l'esercito imperiale, e dichiarandolo d'antica nobiltà, come rilevasi da un privilegio spedito in Barletta il 24 luglio 1235 in favore del di lui figlio Gualdo vessilliero del cennato imperatore, e che si conserva in Cefalù nell'archivio del vivente D. Carlo O. barone di Bordonaro. Questa famiglia passò in Sicilia nel XIII secolo, e s'ebbe la signoria dell'isola di Gozzo, non che i feudi di Damisa, Libione, Delia ed altri, come riferiscono Mugnos, Muscia, Villabianca ecc. Un ramo di essa si conserva tuttora in Cefalù ne' baroni di Bordonaro Soprano, ed ha conservato sempre il suo lustro pe' soggetti di merito, le sue dovizie, opere di liberalità e beneficenza, nobili alleanze, non meno per luminose cariche occupate di capitano d'Agrigento, pretor di
