Di origine normanna, e venuti in Italia sotto il nome di Albertoni al tempo di Tancredi Guiscendo, sotto le cui insigne militarono i fratelli Antonio, Giovanni, Stefano e Tommaso. Al tempo poi di Roberto duca di Calabria, che s'impadronì di Fermo, si trapiantò in questa città, al cui patriziato fu ascritta, dando alla nuova patria personaggi egregi che la illustrarono. Giovanni degli Albertoni, carissimo a papa Innocenzo III, sostenne la carica di legato apostolico contro gli Albigesi, e dal di lui fratello Paccarano presero i posteri il nome di Paccaroni abbandonando l'antico di Albertoni. Tommaso fu generale dell'ordine dei Predicatori; Bonaventura, minorita, morto in onore di santità e venerato sugli altari. Vestirono l'abito gerosolimitano Anton-Francesco nel 1582 e Muzio nel 1588,e quello di S. Stefano di Toscana i fratelli Nicolò e Giuseppe di Federico nel 1627. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal secolo XIX.
