Antica ed illustre famiglia modenese che, in principio del XV secolo, trovavasi talvolta nominata come Pafundi de' Zuliasi o Pafundi d'Albinea. Bartolomeo, dottore in legge, fu podestà e commissario in patria nel 1552. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più aggiornamenti araldici, dal 1741. Altro ramo. Antichissima in Sassuolo, diede, nel secolo XVI, al Capitolo di Faenza tre uomini, per dignità e merito. Girolamo, nel 1542, per rinuncia di Giovanni Belli, fu nominato Piovano di S. Niccolò del Castellaro nella diocesi di Verona. Inoltre, nell'archivio della comunità di Sassuolo, si conservano le lettere patenti, con cui il Doge Pietro Lando approva tale nomina di Girolamo, nominandolo come dottore. Nel 1551, tale incarico passò al fratello Camillo Pafundi, come si evince da un rogito di Giorgio Pafundi, altro fratello. Girolamo, invece, passò in Faenza ove, come si legge nei libri capitolari, fu elevato alla dignità di Canonico e di Preposto nella
