De este apellido, originario de Castilla, hay dos líneas en Antioquía (Colombia). Las fundaron dos hermanos españoles llamados José Francisco y Luis Manuel P. de la Peña y Montenegro, hijos de Nicolás P. de la Peña y de su mujer doña Isabel Parla. El primero de dicho hermanos, José Francisco P. de la Peña, casó en la ciudad de Medellín, del departamento de Antioquía, el 19 de Junio de 1784, con doña Francisca Londoño (hija de Fernando L. y de doña Josefa Gallón), y fueron padres de Francisco P. Londoño, marido de doña Josefa Quevedo, hija de José María Quevedo y de doña María Agudelo; José María P. Londoño, que casó dos veces: la primera, con su prima hermana doña Rosa P. Londoño, y la segunda, con doña María Jesús Ruiz; Rafael P. Londoño, que efectuó su enlace con doña Josefa Cacido, hija de Manuel Cadido y de doña Josefa Cano; Luis María P. Londoño, esposo de doña Rita Lara, hija de Manuel Lara y de doña Angela Lara; Miguel P. Londoño, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Carmen Placio, hija de Juan José Palacio y de doña Isidora Tabares; y José Antonio P. Londoño. De todos ellos hay numerosos descendientes en Medellín y Antioquía. El segundo de los dos hermanos, citados al comienzo de estas líneas, llamado Luis Manuel P. de la Peña Montenegro, casó con doña María Antonia Londoño (hermana de la mujer de su hermano José Francisco), y procrearon a Teresa P. Londoño, María Jesús P. Londoño, Rosa P. Londoño y Josefa P. Londoño.
