Esta familia, que según una antigua tradición derivaría de los recuentos de Guidi, parece haber tomado el apellido "Del Palagio" de un antiguo edificio de piedra construido por él frente a la iglesia de San Michele Visdomini en via de 'Servi en Florencia, luego incorporado a las casas de los pasquis.
