Antiguo linaje catalán, de probada nobleza. Sus ramas se extendieron por Aragón, Valencia y La Mancha. Otra pasó a Galicia. Y otra radicó en las Asturias de Santillana (Santander). En Cataluña tuvo casas solares en la villa de Cardona, del partido judicial de Berga y provincia de Barcelona, en esta ciudad y en Tortosa. A esta última casa perteneció Juan Vicente P., a quien hizo noble el emperador Maximiliano, con privilegio despachado el 31 de enero de 1515. Así lo afirma Martín de Viciana. De dicho Juan fue descendiente Luis de P., que se trasladó de Tortosa a la villa de Albocácer de la provincia de Castellón de la Plana, creando la línea que pasó a esta ciudad, y de la que fue Vicenta P., esposa de Jaime Vallés, y ambos padres de Manuel Vallés P., casado con doña Isabel Ferrer.
