A origem da história remonta por alguns historiadores à era romana e à fundação de Piacenza; o cônsul Marcello, derrotou os gauleses perto do Pó, conquistou Milão; Ao voltar, deixou colonos dos cavaleiros romanos de Piacenza 300, entre os Decurions, dos quais ele era um Paulus Austerius, de quem os Pullastrerii, os Pallastrelli. No século XI, conhecemos Omodeo e Giovanni Pallastrelli, que em 1093 construíram em conjunto um mosteiro chamado San Marco, para o qual em 1097 Azone, de Azone Pallastrelli, doou terras e lembrou em 1099 Vinizone e Giovanni Pallastrelli. Os antigos da família professavam o direito Lombard. Na Idade Média, alguns indivíduos da família exerceram o primeiro judiciário nas repúblicas italianas. Guidone Pallastrelli em 1220 e seu filho Petraccio em 1245 eram cônsules da justiça em casa. Petraccio foi o podestà de Parma (1250), Giovanni foi o podestà de Bolonha, Vasino di Foligno (1272), Bernardo de Reggio Emilia
