La famiglia Paliani o Palliani d'Arezzo fu ammessa Gonfalonierato per il quartiere di S. Marta di detta città nel 1586. Fra i vari personaggi di questa famiglia che coprirono tale carica primaria ricordiamo: Giorgio di Paolo P. eletto nel 1591 e nel 1596, e Nicola Gonfaloniere per gli anni 1641-1668 che l'8 ottobre 1646 contrasse matrimonio con Filide di Pietro Francucci, nobile aretino, dalla quale ebbe tre figli, compresa Maria Caterina che dalla legittima unione con Pietro della Doccia, le nacque quel Francesco Maria della Doccia, nobile di Arezzo, che nel 1695 fu vestito dell'abito di cavaliere dell'Ordine di S. Stefano. Dalle nozze contratte il 19 giugno 1694 da Antonio con Margherita Rosa Maria del conte cav. Giovanni Chiaromanni nobile aretino e di Laura del barone Nicolò de Siri nobile di Firenze, nacque il 29 settembre 1715 Angelo Maria Gasparo Palliani che ai 22 ottobre 1736 in Arezzo, nella chiesa
