Il a cette famille, qui vient de Rivarolo, d'origine très ancienne et dont nous avons déjà des nouvelles au siècle. XIV. La généalogie, avec des liens sûrs, commence par un Pierre, qui a vécu au milieu du XVIe siècle. Elle était divisée en deux lignées : l'aînée des comtes de Cesnola et la deuxième fille des comtes de Borgofranco. Ce dernier, qui avait pour jambage Giovanni Aurelio, di Gianfrancesco, qui était l'arrière-petit-fils du susmentionné Pietro, est aujourd'hui éteint. Il assuma la branche aînée au pignon de la noblesse avec Emanuele (né le 13 février 1740, déc. le 17 septembre 1814), fils de l'avocat et magistrat Giuseppe Emanuele et de Girolama Bianchi.
