Famiglia nobile e senatoria, à dato alla patria molti anziani, dottori e cavalieri. Giovanni gonfalonieri di giustizia nel 1322; Antonio senatore nel 1507 ed ambasciatore a Milano nel 1512. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dalla morte di Domicilla P. maritata a Paolo-Emilio Argeli nella casa del quale passarono le sostanze dei P. verso la fine del XVI secolo. Altro ramo. Uscito dai Tron dei Venezia, o dai P. di Mantova, questo casato era già fiorenti in Urbino nel XIII secolo. Andrea Vescovo di Bitonto. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali, come Ecclesiastici,
