Giuseppe Maria Calvi di Antonio Maria Gatti dè Calvi di Pavia nel 1685 ottenne la cittadinanza parnense e riuscito caro al duca Ranuccio II Farnese fu innalzato al grado di suo maggiordomo. Nel 1688 gli fu assegnato il dazio di entrata delle galette in Piacenza; possedeva beni nel pavese e nel milanese. Fu dal duca investito del feudo di Coenzo, Enzano e S. Jorio con rog. del not. camerale Pisani in data 5 ag. 1693 ed insignito del titolo di conte (m). Ottenne pure nel 1700 il titolo di patrizio bolognese. Morì in Parma nel 1728 e fu sepolto nella chiesa della SS. Trinità dei Rossi, ove vivente s'era preparato il sepolcro con l'iscrizione tutt'ora esistente. Lasciò erede universale il figlio di sua sorella Anna, Gian Tommaso Pabst, purchè assumesse il solo cognome di Calvi. Pietro, fratello di Giuseppe Maria, con pat. ducale del 1688 ebbe il grado di tenente
