La famiglia Alberici è annoverata fra le antiche di Orvieto e pare si stabilisse in Roma fin dal XIV secolo, ove un Cecco, figlio di Filippo Paolino de Alberici, appare il 25 aprile del 1365 in un atto del notaro Goioli. Fu in Orvieto ricca e potente e fondò chiese, ospedali e dotò cappelle, potenza considerevole se i vescovi di Orvieto ricevettero il possesso temporale da questa famiglia e avevano verso la stessa un tributo annuo di una certa quantità di pesce. Questa famiglia diede alla Chiesa vescovi, prelati, abati e alla Patria capitani ed onorabilissimi cittadini. Il primo a stabilirsi in Roma definitivamente fu Pirro, che ebbe in moglie Margherita, figlia di Alessandro Boni, nobile fiorentino. La famiglia Alberici si estinse nel 1705 con Giuseppe e sua figlia Costanza portò l'eredità, il patriziato romano e il cognome Alberici nei P. di Orvieto.
