Antica famiglia patrizia cosentina della quale si hanno chiarissime memorie. Antonio, fu sindaco dei nobili di Cosenza nel 1680 e ricevete da Re Carlo II la cedola che dichiarava in Cosenza il Sedile Chiuso; Francesco, n. nel 1668, sposò Maria Mazzacane dei principi di Omignano. Da lui discendono gli attuali rappresentanti della famiglia Arduino, fu vice presidente della suprema corte di giustizia; Rosario, distinto archeologo e letterato, fece parte del congresso degli scienziati in Napoli nel 1845. Con D.M. 27 gennaio 1887, questa famiglia fu riconosciuta nel titolo di patrizio di Cosenza. Decorata del titolo di conte da Leone XIII, ottenne con R.D. l'autorizzazione ad usare il detto titoli trasmissibile e con R.D. 25 giugno 1926, la rinnovazione del predicato di S. Stefano per i discendenti di Arduino. Con D.P. 10 agosto 1926, ottenne ancora il riconoscimento del cimiero e motto sempre per i discendenti del predetto Arduino. La famiglia
