Trae questa famiglia le sue origini da Moncalieri, dove era antichissima. Guglielmo, capostipite della famiglia, viveva ivi nell'inizio del secolo XIII. Luchino, di Franceschino, acquistò nel 1431 punti di Menabò e di Cellarengo, che suo figlio Remigio, che fu vicario di Savigliano e governatore di Ivrea, ampliò con nuovi acquisti fatti nel 1465. Francesco Maria, di Giuseppe, che fu dottore di leggi, consegnò il 17 giugno 1687 l'arma gentilizia e acquistò dai Cagnis punti di Lessolo nel 1678. Sposò costui Anna Margherita Vagnone, e da queste nozze nacque, fra gli altri, Giuseppe, che fu ufficiale dei dragoni, e fu infeudato di Veglio l'11 gennaio 1723 e investito il 15 gennaio 1735 col titolo comitale, mentre fu investito di Lessolo il 10 febbraio 1711, feudo che vendette il 16 luglio 1736 a Giulio Excoffier.
